You may be seeking help after a single frightening event, years of difficult experiences, or a relationship that left you feeling unsafe. You do not need to know exactly how to describe what happened before asking for support.
You find it hard to relax, stay alert for danger, or feel tense even in familiar settings. Therapy can help you explore these responses and build ways to feel more grounded.
Unwanted reminders, nightmares, or strong reactions interrupt your day. Work toward understanding triggers and reducing the distress connected with past experiences.
You feel distant from your emotions, your surroundings, or other people. Sessions offer room to explore these experiences with care and attention to your needs.
You carry blame, guilt, or a persistent sense that you are not enough. Explore how these beliefs developed and work toward a more compassionate view of yourself.
Closeness feels difficult, saying no brings guilt, or conflict leaves you overwhelmed. Therapy can support healthier boundaries and greater confidence in relationships.
Experiences of abuse, neglect, or ongoing instability may continue to shape your life. Care is tailored to your history, current circumstances, and readiness.
These experiences can have different causes and do not, on their own, establish a trauma-related diagnosis. Gina will help you understand what may be contributing to your concerns.

Meet your therapist
Gina is a Florida Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MT5516) trained in EMDR. She supports adults navigating trauma, PTSD, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and significant life changes.
Her approach considers your emotional well-being, relationships, strengths, and personal history. Together, you will discuss your goals and choose an approach suited to your needs.
Getting started does not require telling your whole story at once. Early conversations focus on what is affecting you now, what helps you cope, and what you would like to change.
Depending on your needs, therapy may include recognizing triggers, practicing grounding skills, understanding emotional responses, exploring beliefs shaped by past experiences, and processing distressing memories. You and Gina will review how the work is affecting you and adjust the plan together.
Repeated or prolonged traumatic experiences can affect your sense of self, relationships, and ability to feel secure. Therapy takes those layers into account, with attention to current support and coping alongside work on the past.
A treatment option to explore together
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a structured psychotherapy with evidence supporting its use for PTSD. Gina can help you consider whether it fits your concerns and treatment goals.
During memory processing, you briefly focus on aspects of a distressing experience while following guided eye movements or another form of alternating stimulation, such as tapping or sounds. The aim is to reduce distress connected with the memory. EMDR does not erase what happened, and results vary.
EMDR includes history-taking, treatment planning, and preparation. You discuss the process and practice ways to manage distress before beginning memory processing.
When appropriate, you work on an agreed memory or concern with Gina’s guidance. You remain awake and can ask to pause. Detailed verbal retelling is not always necessary.
Sessions include closure and ongoing review of your responses. You discuss what has changed, what remains difficult, and what support you need between appointments.
Memory processing does not have to begin at your first appointment. The preparation you need depends on your symptoms, coping resources, current circumstances, and treatment plan. Gina will explain the next steps and check in with you throughout.
